CDR Matthew Brown, USNR

"Everyone of us is Captain of our own action, intention, feelings, and thoughts. Let's use the best tools we can to THINK BETTER".

Matthew Brown is a Commander in the US Navy Reserve, Veteran Fellow at Stanford University's Hoover Institution, and Chief Executive Officer of Chimney Trail Health.

Prior to founding Chimney Trail, Matt was Commanding Officer of the US Navy warship, USS SCOUT and was a senior innovation advisor for Naval Special Warfare's SEAL Team 17.

During his time in service, he saw first-hand the need for a system of delivering preventive Cognitive Behavioral Therapy training in an accessible, memorable way.

The challenges he saw in military life inspired him to collaborate with the world's top mental healthcare experts.

With input from Johns Hopkins, Stanford, Harvard, University of South Dakota, University of Maryland, Brown, and UPenn; Matt and his team developed a prevention-first curriculum of CBT training for all ages.

He aims to push back the tide of destructive anxiety and depression by teaching the principles of CBT and providing instruction on how to apply it in our lives.

Put the best to work for you and those in your charge

Normally, to benefit from world-class mental healthcare, you’d have to self identify as being in need of such care. Normally, you’d have to wait until your symptoms of anxiety and depression reached destructive levels.

Then, you’d schedule an appointment with your primary care physician. They would conduct a basic “mental health assessment” and would refer you to a licensed psychiatrist. If in need of medication, you’d start there. You’d then be referred to a psychologist who would introduce you to the principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

At Chimney Trail Health, we believe an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. You shouldn’t have to have a “prescription” to build the very healthiest version of your own mind.
